The day I died. (Part 2)

Sometimes I wonder whether I hit the floor or not. I was falling and then... I wasn't. I hit something but it wasn't hard like concrete... It was soft like fur. Though it still hurt to land on. I kept my eyes shut, scared to open them, holding them closed so tightly that I started to see shapes in the darkness and colours distort. That's when I felt a hand grab the top of my head and push me down.

I allowed it, my head pushed down as if I was in the fetal position almost touching my knees, I wasn't on my side though, more like I was being carried. Suddenly a voice rang out over the wind blowing past my ears "Keep your head down. I'll get you home." I was confused but did what the voice said, I kept my eyes closed and suddenly it felt like I was falling again. Then I was rising, then falling, then rising again, I felt sick and had to open my eyes.

I opened my eyes to shapes and stars dancing across my eyes, vision blurred and dark until suddenly the light hit my eyes and everything went white, I squinted as I waited for my eyes to adjust and that's when I realised I was starring straight up at the sun. I pannicked and started looking around which made whoever owned the voice push my head back down again "Calm down, you're safe but you need to stay still or I could drop you." his voice echoed inside my head and a strange... calmness flowed over me as if I was put under a spell.

The voice was deep, masculine and it reverbed around me like it had actual power to it, this person could kill with just their voice if they wanted to. I wasn't scared though, I felt... Happy. Calm. Like I was safe even though all I could see was the sky and feeling like I was still falling to my death, I had no worries.

In my stupor I didn't realise the sky had suddenly gone dark, the sun blocked out from something that was coming into focus. The giant reptile. I had completely forgotten about it but here it was again, hunting us and rapidly getting closer.

I was able to get a better look at it this time, it's face stretched and wrinkled in anger, it's jaw like a snake poised to strike, it's huge forked tongue the width of a car flicking around in the air tracking our scent. Perhaps the creature was blind? I couldn't be sure and before I could even give it much thought the world had suddenly gotten a lot darker. I was still calm and uncarring as something very scaly was now completely above us and blocking out all view of the sky, it was attacking us, that much I was certain about and my assumptions were soon to be proven correct as the beast collided with us and the world went fully black.

Did I die again? Or maybe I did survive the first fall and this time I was really about to die? Just as it made contact with us the spell over my mind was broken and I felt fear again for a split second before everything went black.

The day I was born.

I felt peace again for only a second before I jolted awake, sitting upright in a tiny wooden room with a curved ceiling, rectangular in shap...
